5 Tips And Tricks About PS3

I recently bought the PS3 12 GB, that is my first console and i got quite a lot of time with it. I was curious as to what my console can do. What are its limitations, where it shines.
So here are my findings, and on that here are my Top 5 Tips and Tricks About the PS3

• Did you know that you can buy games from any country and they will run perfectly on your PS3? That is possible because no PS3 games are region locked. According to Wikipedia Region Locking is" is a class of digital rights management preventing the use of a certain product or service, such as multimedia or a hardware device, outside of a certain region or territory. A regional lockout may be enforced through physical means, through technological means such as detecting the user's IP address or using an identifying code, or through unintentional means introduced by devices only supporting certain regional technologies (such as video formats, i.e. NTSC and PAL)." But beware all Blu-Ray DVD's are region locked and they may or may not run on your PS3

• You can turn on the PS3 without touching the on/ off button- To do this first turn on the PS3 from the mains. Wait till the red light turns on. Then press the PS Button on your controller to turn on the PS3.

• You can see how much charging is left in your controller- To do this, first turn on the PS3, and long press the PS Button and the screen will change to this, and if you notice, in the lower left hand side it shows you the Charge left in the controller

• How to backup all your game saves- To backup all your game saves. Plug in any USB Pen Drive on the PS3

• Go To Games

• Go To Saved Games

• Go to the games that have been saved

• Click on Triangle

• Choose Copy

• Choose Destination as the PenDrive

• Wait till its done

• You can install custom themes to your PS3- To do this download any PS3 theme(Search Google for that), Download that theme, Create a THEME folder(yes all in caps), Put the theme into it attach the PD onto the PS3. Go to Settings, Theme

• Tap on Triangle
• Choose Install
• Choose USB Stick
• Let it install
• Enjoy

Nintendo 2DS

Nintendo last week announced the new Nintendo 2DS, which is the entry level handheld gaming device. It will be available in North America for 130$ starting 12th October. This is almost the same as the 3DS but without 3D and the flip design. The 2DS will be available in UK/Europe  for £109.99 and Australia/NZ for AUD$149.95/NZD$179.95 on October 12th also.

Here are what we know about the 2DS

• Compatible with all 3DS and DS games but does not include the ability to display games in 3D
• It can be put to sleep using a slider that replicates closing the clamshell on a standard 3DS.
• WiFi can be turned off, via controls in the software rather than with a physical switch.
• Available in red and blue models to start with
• Will be sold alongside the standard 3DS available for $169.99 and 3DS XL for-$199.99
• Will include a 4GB SD card
• Same power source as 3DS and DSi.
• Two cameras on the back side,
• AR games still function and players can still take 3D photos but they simply can’t be displayed on the 2DS, but are still viewable in full 3D if transferred to 3DS.
• Includes one speaker, which plays mono sound, but features full stereo via its headphone jack.
